Two months ago Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) launched "KAGUYA", a project that essentially consists of three satellites. The main purpose of the project is to data on the moon and research technology for moon missions. The coolest thing about this mission (at least in the short run) are the amazing HD pictures the project has sent back.
