My Wife is a Closet Bracketologist

For the second straight year, Rachel is winning our NCAA pool. First off, let me say that this is the number one reason that I don't make people wager money on this pool. Second, how in the world does this happen? It's not that my wife is totally clueless about basketball (although she did think Stanford was on the East Coast and had never heard of Davidson, Dell Curry, or his son, but still had them in the Sweet 16), it's just that to win this you need a degree of luck. How lucky is she? If she wins the whole pool this year, I'm driving to Atlantic City with her and putting our life savings on Black 13.

Dewey defeats Truman!

Well, not quite. But my wife Rachel did beat all-comers in our annual March Madness Pool. Congratulations to you sweetie!

Not sure how she pulled this off. I pictured something life the SNL Peyton Manning skit where the blonde made all the correct picks ("Bulldogs are sooooo cute!"), but maybe my own mad basketball picking skills are rubbing off on her. Actually she revealed her secret as picking schools that she had heard of. Better luck to all of us next year. The results are below. As you can see from my score, I should probably get my wife to fill out my brackets next year.

NCAA Tournament Picks

First, it's not too late to enter our pool. Go to here and fill out your bracket by noon today.

Second, my Final Four picks are Florida, Southern Illinois, Ohio State and Georgetown. Florida and Ohio State will meet in the Finals with Ohio State winning.

Third, I have all four Indiana teams (including Purdue--Go Boilers!) winning in the first round.
