I happened to overhear a group of people (not from my office) discussing a book one of them was reading (sorry, I didn't catch the title; I'm not listening THAT closely to random conversations around me). The person who had read the book commented that it was hard to read and that he sometimes couldn't understand what the writer was saying. This bothered him because he had to reread sentences, leading to this quote: "When you're reading a novel you shouldn't have to read something twice." Hopefully this person has just been used to reading the Pokey Little Puppy and not The Brothers Karamozov all his life, otherwise he's missed a lot.

Quote of the Day: Mike Tyson's lawer

After this report from the AP: "The latest charges stem from Tyson's Dec. 29 arrest in Scottsdale. Tyson was pulled over after leaving a nightclub, and an officer found bags of cocaine in his back pocket and another in a package of cigarettes in his car, according to court records," Mike Tyson's lawyer, David Chesnoff said:

"Drug addiction is a victimless crime. We believe this is the kind of crime where you shouldn't go to prison."

Quote of the Day: NFL Network on Britney Spears

Britney Spears was apparently trying to get involved in an ad the NFL Network was preparing for the Super Bowl. The NFL Network's response is the rather awesome quote of the day:

"She's too much of a train wreck. Besides, we already have Paris Hilton."

The Raiders signed Jeff George today. When asked if George was ready to play after being out of football, Mike Ditka replied, "Jeff George wasn't ready to play when he was in football."
